Connie: Well! Last week Jenny told Anne that she knew about the affair with Robert!
Stylist: Who is Robert having the affair with?
Connie: Oh, some tramp!
Stylist: That "tramp" is my BFF!
Lesson: We, as stylist, love to share stories with our loyal and most devoted guests but caution is always the better part of modesty.
Informative, serious, funny, sad, and sometimes unsolicited advise from a hairdresser that has seen almost everything from where I stand

It takes a village
Okay, so they say it takes a village to raise a child to be a productive and effective part of that village. Why then does the village get upset when a villager tries to correct the child?

Its all in the wrist
I have heard some really interesting stories in my day but the one I heard the other day almost made me cry it was so funny.
A woman is explaining to me that she and her husband had a horrible fight and she was so angry. I politely asked what had happened and she said her husband stood behind her for 10 minutes telling her how to cook.
"Honey, if you want that gravy to be creamy you will need to lower the temperature on the flame and watch how you grind the peppers, they need to be small enough. Would you look at the way you are whisking those eggs, they will never work.", he said.
"What are you doing? she exclaimed.
To which he replied, "I am just letting you know how I feel when you are riding with me in the car".

Tried and True
"It's been four weeks since my last color, lets do the same".
The "same" what? Tried and true color that you are expected to show up with at work on Monday?
Rethink the normal and ask your stylist to push the envelope and ideas of color. Simple thought; "hey, my color looks great (if that applies) but its boring. What can we do to make it stand out"?
A good stylist will embrace this and give you the color you want, need, and are paying for.

Establishing a home
Moving can be a challenge for stylists and their clients. It takes months, if not years, to establish trusting relationships with a stylist you are happy with. Conversely, it is the same for a stylist and their new salon. My advise, enter a new relationship with kid gloves. The stylist is just as "new" to it as you are. Be kind, be understanding, and remember.......they are in the same boat as you.
